Day 92 of 365 Photo Challenge

Not sure what happened here, but the camera fubar'd a pretty cool picture.  I guess the lens couldn't keep up with Orion in the twilight of dusk and it cut half of him out, but hey, it's Halloween so that's pretty awesome.

And no, this is not ALL Apollo's candy.  This is the candy they racked up together over 4 events... Trick or Treating Downtown, Halloween Celebration at NAS, Fall Festival in Molino and Trunk or Treating in Cantonment. We didn't even GO Trick or Treating on actual Halloween because we were pooped...

Day 91 of 365 Photo Challenge

Live Long...and prosper!  Here is our little Spock at the Naval Aviation Museum at NAS.  They went trick or treating, met a Black Sheep Squadron Pilot and Apollo drooled up a storm, if you can't tell. And they were the only Star Trek characters we saw... there were about 6 Snow Whites, 10 Spidermans, etc.

Stardate -30 thousand something.  It really is, I'm just too lazy to look it up.  Orion went as Kirk again and everyone loved his and Apollo's costumes.  He's really watching Casper here, but it looks like capatain's chair.  He also got to see a magic show.  The best part was people KNEW who they were.

Day 90 of 365 Challenge

We took the boys Trick or Treating downtown.  Orion was a lion, but his costume didn't turn out exactly how I'd planned.  The mask was store-bought for $1 and he was supposed to be wearing all brown but his solid brown shirt didn't make it into the car, nor did I ever get around to getting yarn for his mane and tail, which he does have a tail, it's just behind him.

Apollo was a zebra and since his was store bought, it looked like a zebra.  I figured he'd be mad about the hat and be trying to rip it off, but he loved it - enough to fall asleep at McDonald's in full costumer.  He got lots of "oohs and aahs" and I think he had fun.  he was certainly smiling a lot.

Day 89 of 365 Photo Challenge

The boys playing together on the deck.  They are looking more and more alike with each passing day.  And they're getting more interactive with other too.

Day 88 of 365 Photo Challenge

Orion has a bit of a baby sunburn from the beach.  It's mostly on his ears.

And just a close-up of the cutie known as Apollo.  This is his happy face...he sucks on his bottom lip. He had a snotty nose from suspected allergies.

Day 87 of 365 Photo Challenge

Apollo is getting so big!  This was right after dinner - he had a 6 ounce bottle and a jar of peas.  Yes, you read right - a whole jar of peas for dinner.  He had a whole jar of bananas earlier.  My little pigget is eating real food *sniff*  And as of November 21, his 6 month birthday, he's going to Stage 2 foods, juice, meats... all kinds of yummy stuff.  Right now, he just gets broken down Gerber puffs and Stage 1 purees, but his day is coming and so are his teeth...but that's a whole nother story!

Orion is 2...and acting like it.  His attitude and defiance have been building for months, but he is full on 'tude now.  We took him to the beach this morning to take his 2 year pictures and...this is about the best I got.  He was completely defiant and whined the whole time, so most of the pictures are frowny faces.  It really frustrated me, so we just stopped and went home.  I am hoping to maybe take him to the park for a second shot at his two year old pictures.  Otherwise, his two year pictures will all be of him fussing.

Day 86 of 365 Photo Challenge

I am starting cloth diapering, but I am waiting on most of the stuff to come in the mail.  This was the first thing to arrive - a water resistant diaper cover... with my favorite team on Apollo's butt.

And Orion LOVES his present from Mimi and Poppa... his very own playground on our deck.  It was supposed to be a slide, but it somehow morphed on the way home into a whole little swingset, complete with telescope and driver's wheel.  So now we have a spring horse, swing set, Cozy Coupe, Little Tikes toy box full of Brik blocks and Orion's various balls on our deck.  Plus, we're gonna hang his swing and let Apollo use the one on the swingset when they both wanna swing.

Day 85 of 365 Photo Challenge

Here's out little Brobee at big brother's birthday party.  It was obviously a Yo Gabba Gabba theme, so Apollo had to dress up too.

And here's the birthday boy, all decked out like DJ Lance Rock.  Kiddo was SO hyperactive it was hard to get a good picture of him, but this one turned out okay.

Day 84 of 365 Photo Challenge

We're working on sitting up lately and we're really starting to get good.  Apollo is still supported here, but he's getting the hang of it.

Orion got his birthday present a night early and as usual, he HAD to play in the box.  but this time, the box was bigger than him, so he tried to climb out of it, but didn't succeed.  Daddy had to save him.

Day 83 of 365 Photo Challenge

It's been a week of pictures of the boys together.  I've been super busy planning Orion's birthday party (and last week, the Halloween party) so I have snapped pictures when I'm able to.  Orion is being such a good big brother - he even shared his tricycle at Mimi's and Poppa's.

Day 82 of 365 Photo Challenge

Brotherly love at its best.  I have to say that Orion relally loves his brother...at least he acts that way. They played and rolled around in the pack and play for a while until Orion accidentally kicked Apollo in the stomach.  That's when I seperated them.

MIA

That's what I have been for a while now.  I've still been doing the daily photo update of course, but I haven't really had any thoughts to post in over 2 weeks.  Right after we got home from Tennessee, I came down with something nasty.  I have always had a strong immune system and rarely get sick, but when I do, it's horrible and takes me down for days.  This time, kit was weeks - I've still got lingering symptoms a month later.  Of course my mom and dad caught it and they're in week 2 of it and now it seems as if hubby is showing some symptoms, but I am hoping his is a light cold or allergies.  Thankfully, neither of the kiddos have gotten sick.

My migraines have also reared their ugly head and I have one that won't go away.  It lessens and the intensity wanes, but it's always there.  And it hurts.  And my 800 mg Ibuprofen aren't touching it anymore.  Plus, my stomach is getting messed up from all the Ibuprofen.  Fail.

And I think I have PPD.  I have an appointment on Monday to assess the situation and see what can be done.  But the irrational fears of something happening to the boys, my crying spells, my feelings of worthlessness...aren't something to ignore.  I need to get seen and I need to get help.  Whether that's medication or seeing a shrink, something has to happen so my quality of life can return.

Day 81 of 365 Photo Challenge

Orion is such a great little helper if he's in the right mood.  Today, he helped Pops/Poppa (he can't say Pops yet, he calls him Poppa) rake up the leaves in the yard.  Then he sat down in the dirt and played with the leaves and the dirt, prompting his second bath of the day - the first being due to him splashing in his chicken noodle soup.

And Apollo usually spends about 30 minutes or so before bed playing with Alphabet Pal in the pack and play.  He doesn't usually fall asleep, but he took his longer nap WAY early today, so I guess he was just exhausted.  He's been teething some lately, so that might've contributed.

Day 80 of 365 Photo Challenge

Apollo is such a big boy now and he loves to swing just as much as his brother. He was giggling up a storm and he did really well for his first time in a big boy swing.  He has swung in Riley's infant swing before, but he was swinging right alongside the other kids at the park.

And Orion is seriously a little monkey!  He was climbing up ladders and rock walls to get up onto the playground equipment and he loves to slide.  This is one of the lower slides, but he ever conquered the massive slide (not pictured)...and all that AFTER he slipped on the rock wall and bit his tongue, spit out a good bit of blood and wanted to go right back to playing.  I definitely have a rough and tumble boy.

Day 79 of 365 Photo Challenge

Me and Orion try to play outside every morning before lunch.  Until we manage to get him a slide and get his swing set up on the deck, this involves pushing him around in his cozy coupe and helping him play with blocks.  Kiddo loves it and it's a relaxing break for me.  It'd be great to go for a walk, but Apollo naps during this time.

And Apollo is just too damn cute.  He went to TOWN on that horsey.  He loves this thing, much more than Orion ever did.  Orion was always very 'meh' about it, but not Apollo.  He giggles and babbles and jumps for 20 or so minutes, which is awesome fr barely 5 months.

Day 78 of 365 Photo Challenge

Family portrait at the Brad Paisley concert in Gulf Shores. This is actually after the show in the Bruno's parking lot.  We shared our anniversary cake with old friends.

Day 77 of 365 Photo Challenge

Halloween party time!  Here is the pumpkin and bunch of grapes revisited.  Apollo did surprisingly well.

And Captain Kirk had an absolute blast eating dirt and witches hats and feeding the spider and walking through the graveyard.  He laughed so much tonight, it was so nice to hear him happy like that.

Day 76 of 365 Photo Challenge

Apollo had his 4 month checkup today.  It was a bit late, but he's just under 16 pounds and somewhere between 25 and 26 inches long.  He was such a trooper, but it was a very long wait, so he fell asleep after his bottle, but before his shots. He loves his "Batty" which is a little stuffed bat I got out of the Target dollar bins.

And Orion passed out early tonight, so we snapped a picture of him sleeping since he looked so sweet.

Day 75 of 365 Photo Challenge

The boys are so sweet together.  We carved pumpkins today and Orion wanted to help so bad, so we let him play with the pumpkin for the party dip for the party on Saturday. Neither one was very sure what to do with it though.

Day 74 of 365 Photo Challenge

Orion thinks everyone is a phone...the hairbrush, the remote, calculators, memory cards, Wii remotes...you name it, he's put it to his ear and tried to talk through it...so we let him have the real phone tonight, but it was dead so he couldn't call Tokyo.

And Apollo wore this shirt today in honor of daddy.  Alex had to have a "procdeure" done and Apollo thought it would brighten his mood if he wore this.  That way, daddy could just hold him up when he had to go.  I think every baby should a toilet onesie!

Day 73 of 365 Photo Challenge

Ha...disposable bibs are great.  Why we ever stopped using them with Orion, I'll never remember.  Probably the money issue.  They do cost money... but with the way this child eats, it's so hard to wash bibs, we don't even use them and then he get sit all over his clothes.

And just like daddy and big brother, Apollo loves to play anything on the computer, especially flight simulators.  Alex doesn't have a handheld system anymore which is what he and Orion used to do.

Day 72 of 365 Photo Challenge

Bedtime at the Wright household.  It's pretty chilly in our house tonight, so we had to cover up Apollo because his feet were turning a nice shade of eggplant and no matter what I did, he kept kicking the footies off of his footie pajamas.

And Orion is still loving his Scout. He goes to  sleep with it every night. And he won't keep a blanket on him no matter what I try.  Besides, even when he DOES fall asleep with a blanket, he twists and turns so much in his sleep that it always gets wrapped around him and eventually discarded.

Day 71 of 365 Photo Challenge

Kiddo is really liking his high chair. It's a stand alone which Orion never had, simply because  we did not have the space for one. We barely have the space now, but we ended up getting this high chair for 22.50 on major clearance and it's a Safety 1st brand and I've seen this thing elsewhere for 80+ dollars, so I'm happy with the purchase.  It evens matches out kitchen, plus the tray is huge and has plenty of room for toys - even if Apollo DOES pull them into his lap and grin about it.

Orion enjoys whatever time he gets to himself with mommy and daddy so we oftentimes will pull him into our bed to cuddle or watch TV... or wrestle if you're his daddy.  Kid is starting to pull wrestling moves on me and his baby brother, so the wrestling has been outlawed for now until Orion can understand he can hurt someone.  But he's still allowed in our bed.

Day 70 of 365 Photo Challenge

And we like peas...sorta.  He's probably about as fond of peas as his daddy is, but he loves his new chair...and the chance to eat real food.  He loves oatmeal and we tried peas today... pictures below show the peas!

And Orion got a boo-boo on the deck.  He went to kick a ball and instead rolled his foot over the back and whacked the back of his head on the desk.  He was a bit stunned, but not seriously hurt.  Really there's just a little scrape - not even a knot or anything.  But we still kissed it to make it feel better and gave him some grape Tylenol and a grape popsicle.

Day 69 of 365 Photo Challenge

We took the boys to the Pumpkin Patch in Milton... but it's really in Jay, FL which is almost an hour away - if you go the right way.  It ended up taking us way too long and too much frustration to get there, but it was worth it.

And Orion was being a wimpy baby in the patch.  It's a real pumpkin patch, it was 90 degrees and it's Florida.  So what does that equal?  Bugs...lots of em.  And Orion would swat at them and go "Ew, Ew, Ew, bug..." every time I tried to take his picture.  So one of his back turned out to be the best.

And since it's bee pointed out to me that I'm not a good updater, here's  a bonus picture:

Day 68 of 365 Photo Challenge

I had a job interview today and the boys just waited outside while I was in there.  I came back to the car and this is what I found - my 2 year old driving like an old pro! He was even trying to turn the wheel... it as so cute.

And Apollo was stylin' in Daddy's hat. Now that he's got the beanie down,  I wonder what's next in his little baby wardrobe - skinny jeans?

Day 67 of 365 Photo Challenge

I had to edit this one for obvious reasons as both boys were basking in their glory. But this is a pretty common occurrence in our household.  It saves time, it calms Apollo down and it gives Orion someone to splash since daddy doesn't like getting splashed. Did I mention Apollo STILL hates bathtime unless Orion is with him?

Day 66 of 365 Photo Challenge

It's not the best picture of Apollo, but they both kept squirming.  However, as this picture shows, the boys both suck the same fingers.  It's their left hand, index and middle finger.  Every time... It was just funny to see them doing it at the same time and try as I might, I couldn't get a good picture of it.  Here's what else I got...
